GenEvo Symposium 2025
GenEvo Symposium 2025
GenEvo PhD students and PIs had an exciting two days in the “Alte Mensa” on the campus of JGU Mainz.
The days were filled with colourful slides and creative posters showcasing the research progress of the 2nd cohort and the upcoming research of the new GenEvo PhD students.
Four keynote speakers from the US, Denmark, Dresden/Barcelona and Tübingen joined the event to present their latest research and engage and discuss with all GenEvo members.
During the first afternoon, three GenEvo/IPP alumni were invited to talk about their various career choices and were happy to offer tips and answer questions by the PhD students. At the same time, Prof. Heather Hofmeister created an engaging atmosphere, getting all PIs involved in a peer-to-peer exchange and discussion about their role, responsibilities, and experiences as supervisors and mentors.
After selecting the best poster (Ida Faust) and best talk (Himrekha Agarwal), a general assembly was held during the second afternoon, followed by an exciting "tour de lab" for and by the new PhD students.
The 4th GenEvo Symposium was a great success!
