Finally, the first on-site event since the start of the pandemic could take place in good weather and in compliance with 3G rules in Ebernburg, Bad Kreuznach.

Together with the RTG EvoPAD of WWU Münster the joint Summer School 2021 aimed to better connect GenEvo PhD students into the German evolution and molecular biology community. In addition to workshops and scientific discussions, the event offered the opportunity to discuss career opportunities with PIs of the respective RTGs in a private atmosphere. Social activities helped to strengthen relationships and interactions with other students of both graduate programmes. Highlights included a joint hike and a BBQ on the last evening.
