From 17 to 21 November 2024, all our PhD students together with PhD students from the RTG TransEvo in Kiel met at the Akademie Waldschlösschen in Göttingen for an interactive workshop on Evolutionary Theory led by Tom Keaney (GenEvo Postdoc), Hanna Kokko (GenEvo PI), Hanna ten Brink, and Victor Ronget.
Apart from teaching theory through lectures and practical modelling exercises, PIs from both RTGs offered academic career advice. In the evenings, all students took part in a friendly three-minute competition to present their PhD research, which was a great way to get to know each other's work.
The short breaks were used to explore the surrounding woods and some people were brave enough to face the gloomy rainy weather to see Göttingen’s historic city centre.
