On Friday, 26 April 2024, Stela and Jessica hosted an inspiring GenEvo seminar with Prof. Dr. Harmit Malik from the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Washington. Harmit Malik is known for his groundbreaking research studying genetic conflicts that drive evolutionary change.

Several PIs took the opportunity to talk about their own research with Harmit in the morning, while about 80 people came to the Biocentre I to listen to his talk in the afternoon. After the seminar, Harmit also gave a mentoring session for PhD students, which was followed by drinks & snacks where everyone could meet Harmit in a more informal setting.

GenEvo is very happy that Harmit came to visit us in Mainz and the event turned out to be exceptionally organized.

Well done, Jessica & Stela!
